For this woman....

has pulled me out of my hiatus to post....Just for you Edie....

We have never met face to face but I know her, she has stepped away from her career (a doctor ya'all) to home school her girls, she adores her MacDaddy and her older little's, Loves the Lord, can decorate with the best of them and is an awesome inspiration...she feels like a best friend....

Edie did this, this and ahhh this is so me...oh and this made me laugh!

and then this happened and I can't go to her blog or facebook and not sob for her pain because she is my friend....

Like that sweater you never want to let go of because it makes you feel good, warm and cozy....
Today, well now it was yesterday, it's her birthday!

Because of this post I ran right out and bought this....

I was going to insert my aqua vintage stapler....but I don't have time for that right now because I have to get this up!! So that Edie knows....I adore her! I love that she makes me feel better about who I am or who I can be! If I were there Edie I would carry you, I would give you that best friend sweater off my back....to keep you warm and safe!

We know you will be alright, we Thank God he allowed you all to remain here on this green earth to continue your GOOD!!!

Madigan is such an amazing child....

as you can see she has amazing all around her. She has the strongest brother and sister....

They support her in everything she does....even squabbling

This baby was in her hospital gown, ready for surgery and still this is what I caught on "film".

Her day ended with this but she still had her fun personality, she is a delight.

These last two are just random from last week.....

still fun!!

Our girl turned 16 in September

She was so kind to postpone her big day

We were getting ready to leave for another spinal surgery for her little sister

We have just started redoing her room

Madigan let us know she was ready for a hair cut.

ready for the fine stringy ends to be cut off.

We arrived at the salon and she wanted to pick out a picture,

sounded fun, right?

Much to our dismay it had bangs!

we cried,

My husband tells me last night

the moon is going at it's brighest for some length of time

I wander to the window

wow sure does look pretty

clouds moving quickly by the moon

I go off to bed with a smile

the moon sure is a wonderful thing

sweet dreams are in order....

deep from my sleep I hear a puppy crying

oh it is so cold outside

single digits

I throw back the blankets

the freeze of the air hits me

slide on my slippies...hardwood floors are pretty but cold

and run to the hall window

throw it open ...ACK Brrrrr!!!

listening very carefully for this cry

you know the cry of a puppy

outside and alone with no mommy to keep it warm

Oh the poor thing will surely die in this cold

listened for what seems like 1/2 and hour

NOTHING!!
I heard nothing...

I stumble back to my goose down comforter....

slide back in

oh now that is better****warmth

and then

I heard the cry again

It was my husbands nose!!

Got that cleared up and my sons dog decided to start barking at 4 am....

I do truly have the greatest husband in the world...yes he acts like most but I LOVeeeee him.

He brought this home for me a few years ago, if you follow Madigan's site, http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/madiganclairegow then you' understand why she is covered in snow. She runs but she needs some work. Shhhh don't tell her though!

I think she is perfect! My girls and I are going to grow flowers and sell them out of her back at the farmer's market. She is going to be the color of butta' my my friends

This year I will be another year older **sigh**

I have decided there needs to be a change, I lack in so many areas.

I have great ideas but don't ever follow through...ever!

My list is going to have 39...my 2010 age...things I would like to complete....

Here are some...

1) Learning to sew with my girls

2) Run...hit the 5 mile mark!

3) Have my family together, here in our home, more often

4) Learn to salsa: Not make it but dance it!

5) Make quilts for my parents, children and husband

6) Do December Daily

7) Volunteer more

8) Make double the pies In Memory of Baby Alayna

9) Practice contentment

10) Plant our garden and weed it...

11) Pray more

12) Memorize Psalm 40

13) Spend one day a month alone window shopping, praying or maybe having coffee with a friend

14) Start an Etsy shop...many ideas

15) Read the entire Bible

16) Start working on Wii daily

So there you have it buttercups, 16 so far. A new beginning!! I will add the rest in a few days!! I may have to make the last few a bit smaller....

This years tree....

Do you ever stop and just think....no I mean really, just reflect on everything!!

Our little family has been through SO much in it's short little time. We married in May, that same year his dad had open heart surgery, WOW stress. Got pregnant, woo hoo but still stressful. We gave birth to Sir William's first child, well you know Q1 and Q2 he inherited when he asked me to marry him. So he wasn't new at being a dad just at changing diapers and crying in the night, from more than just a baby, not really but there are days I could cry. Then the taking in of two teens (not ours) who have seen more than most adults, loving them to this day as if they were my own children. I think it is easy to do, love children that is. I wish they were still here with us....even if I do get stressed out. The same year as giving birth and taking in 2 extra children we learned that our sweet baby had a spinal problem. Things have just become a blur for me. This year she has had 4 spinal surgeries. She requires much of my time....she is beautiful and smart and fun!!

My mother has not been feeling so well... there are many other items that should really be listed but..... in the end, When I lay my head down at the end of a long day I start to think... Do my kids really understand how much they mean to me, to Sir William...
Through all my stressed days of not thinking before I speak, do they know that they are my world? Our world. We adore our children!!
Q1 our 16 yr old is GORGEOUS, she is extremely smart and gifted in anything she attempts to do. Oh my boy, 14 and everything any bright girl would want....not only his he CUTE, he's compassionate, loyal and a very determined fella'!

Then this guy...Mmmmmm I can't get enough time with him.

Do I get upset some days with him, sure it's what makes me human. Generally it is fault of my own that I am mad...through it all
He's so fun to be with, he's totally NOT a morning person, he loves to shop and he loves me and OUR children!!
What more could a girl want!!
So, is it Christmas that has put me in the mood of writting it down and wanting them to know...maybe, certainly I do know I love them this much everyday.

With that, Madigan I so adore you. I have to post this so that it is documented, here in my journal. I copied this from her caringbridge site

This child....I tell ya!! She was playing with the cords that go to her brothers xbox 360 (game thingy) and I had asked her not to because it was a very expensive thingy and he bought it with his birthday money. I didn't want her to have to give up her birthday money to fix it. Two seconds later she tipped the whole unit over....game grinding inside I yell...she says "I'm sorry mommy." It was all better with those kind words. She begins dancing, all you parents know the potty dance, I ask " are you OK?" she replies "yep, I have to go potty", off she runs. She is getting to be such a big girl I don't follow her, I think she can wipe herself. A few moments later she comes out with her shirt pulled down, further than normal. She had done this a couple of nights ago at GG and Papa's, she was hiding GG's lip balm all wrapped up in her shirt. So I ask what she has and she tells me to look, so I pull her shirt up and I don't see anything. She says with a smile a mile long "look in my underpants". I say "oh Madigan please tell me you didn't put my lip gloss in your underpants" as I am pulling them away from her cute little self. "Nope" she tells me, still smiling all proud and tall....as my eyes roll over the scene I about wet myself laughing, there in the littlest petshop undies, perfectly placed is a maxi pad.

This child is such a blessing to all of us.

Madigan underwent another spinal surgery yesterday. It is her 3rd of about 40ish and she handles it better than any adult I have ever meet.

She is my hero!!

My daughter's and I made 27 pies for Thanksgiving. Here is just a sample of them. We donated about half of them to a friend for her fundraiser and gave many of the remainder to families in our community. We made buttermilk (yum O), apple and a couple pumpkin for our boys here at home.

Getting ready for the holidays certainly brings out the best in me. I hike the hills looking for the best of the land. To bring into our home and celebrate our Thanks.

Don't look at the mess behind this, it's our school area. I think there is also a very bad kitty in the window, it was her that probably knoked the milk bottle out of wack too. Pets are like kids!

This is an old fishing basket from my very dear friend Grover. He gave it to me after a day of digging through his attic with him. Sure do miss him.

Breath

This rose, oh this rose

We planted rose bushes last year and this is the first one I have been able to cut. We are always away when they bloom. I looked out the french doors and saw this beauty trying to breath in the cold air. My darling boy ran out and cut it so we could enjoy it's beauty for a few days. She was terribly frost bitten but isn't she beautiful!
